Recently BAWCS Community Pets Support Program provided temporary boarding for a much-loved young German Shepherd while his owner attended a two-week health program.
Knowing their companion was safe and well cared for allowed the owner to focus on their own wellbeing without the added worry of what would happen to their dog.
During his stay, it became clear that, as a young undesexed German Shepherd, he would benefit from some much needed training.
As part of our commitment to looking beyond the immediate need and identifying opportunities to improve every pet’s future, BAWCS arranged additional support through our dog trainer Sahil from Elite Canines Training
The first training session has already proven to be a positive start.
BAWCS is also supporting the cost of an appropriate halti together with desexing, which will not only assist with long-term management but also provide important health and welfare benefits.
At BAWCS, we recognise that pets are family. Sometimes, providing support means more than simply meeting the immediate need.
By identifying opportunities to improve a pet’s long-term wellbeing while they’re in our care, we can help build better outcomes for both pets and the people who love them.
