As Christmas approaches, BAWCS reflects on how we have assisted those in need, from animals in pain, to families on the brink of losing the pets they love.
Because of you, this year we were able to:
- Fund urgent and ongoing veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep and wildlife
- Help people facing homelessness, illness, disability and family violence keep their pets
- Pay pound reclaim fees so animals weren’t lost simply because someone was struggling
- Invest in desexing programs to prevent unwanted litters
- Support rescue groups, sanctuaries and wildlife carers pushed beyond capacity
- Provide behaviour support that saved animals from surrender or euthanasia
Every case we assist represents a moment where things could have gone very differently.
Christmas is often a time of generosity but for animals, it can also be a time of increased risk. Veterinary costs don’t pause. Pounds don’t slow down. Crises don’t wait.
