***ADOPTED. After 5 months in foster care for ‘taming’ Mini Matty is now comfortable to be patted and even seeks it! New ‘mum’ encourages everyone to take on a scaredy cat. The reward when they trust you is amazing!
Adoption process: Complete our online Cat Adoption application (hit APPLY NOW on the cat’s profile) and we’ll organise a private ‘meet and greet’. An application doesn’t commit you to the adoption or the cat you have applied for.
Mini Matty requires a ‘cat whisperer’.
Despite initially being ‘human friendly’ she has reverted to being a non social and afraid. Given this she requires someone that will be extremely patient with her and commit to a long term trial – even as long as 12months without expecting anything from her.
BAWCS Shelter has had other cats in a similar situation and successfully found great homes, those that have been patient and understanding – not wanting anything from the cat except to provide a secure home environment.
The reward when cats like Mini Matty start trusting – even small steps of not hiding / hissing is a wonderful feeling.
Mini Matty will need to be the ‘only cat’ to assist with her adjustment to a new environment.
