Phantom's Story
It is said that all good things come in small packages and this couldn’t be more true of our little Falabella (miniature horse), one of the smallest breeds of horse in the world.
Back in August 2014, when he walked out of the float and his little hooves hit the ground, I think we all fell in love with this special little guy. He had spent 18 years with his previous family but due to an interstate move and no longer having the appropriate space to care for him, he was surrendered into BAWCS care.
Due to his gentle charms, Phantom has made many friends at past events such as the Vegecareian festival and the Australia Day market. He has now retired from his sanctuary event appearances though and enjoys spending his days with his paddock mate Monkey.
At 24 years of age, he does suffer from arthritis and is given a daily supplement to assist with his condition and we make sure he is kept warm in the cooler weather.
Phantom will remain in BAWCS care, as part of our Farm Friends Program for the rest of his retirement.
