Belle and Bear's Story
“hee-haw, hee-haw!” No, it’s not a cartoon character….it’s the unmistakable braying of our newest resident donkeys Belle and Bear (blue halter). They may be smaller in size than other members of the equine family, but what they lack in size, they make up for with their loud greeting!
It’s impossible not to notice them with their oversized ears and inquisitive nature. Donkeys are cautious animals and generally quite placid. They do need companionship and become very attached to their paddock mate, as our beautiful girls are and even more so…being sisters!
Belle and Bear found sanctuary at Donkey Shelter Tongala after their previous owner passed away and BAWCS has recently been entrusted as their caretaker.
Your sponsorship will help support the cost of their feed, worming, regular farrier visits to keep their hooves trimmed and straw in their shelter to provide a comfortable and warm place to rest.
