Connie's Story
This is Connie (or racing name Kardinia Star). Connie’s foaling date was 1 Sept 1990. She had 30 starts in her short career, which resulted in 2 wins and 3 thirds. Her prize money was $3,845. Not good enough to keep racing though, so she faced an uncertain future. She ended up being one of the lucky ones that didn’t end up at the doggers. When the person who saved her couldn’t care for her any longer, they reached out to BAWCS Sanctuary and we had room to take her in.
We originally put Connie up for adoption but decided not long after that she should enjoy her retirement roaming around a paddock, being able to see other equine friends for company and not wanting for anything.
Now 34 years old, your sponsorship support will help with Connie’s ‘senior’ horse feed, farrier, equine dental visits, worming and rugging requirements in winter to keep her snug.
